KARAOKE CONTEST - ACTIVITIES TENT - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2010
Junior Division: 5:00-6:30 P.M. - Senior Division: 6:30-8:30 P.M.
1. Two Divisions: Jr. Division - Age 17 years and younger and Sr. Division - Age 18 years and older.
2. Open to the first 20 contestants in each division registered in the Fair Office by 4:00 pm Friday, September 10. If a division is not
filled, the Activities Tent Committee may accept more than 20 contestants in the other division to a total of 40 persons. (Additional
contestants will be notified by phone).
3. Time limit is 3 minutes 45 seconds per contestant.
4. Contestant must provide own CD or cassette tape (karaoke tape, no vocal), or choose a song from the list in the Fair Board Office.
5. Judges’ decision is final.
6. Registered contestants must sign in at the Activities Tent contest day Juniors between 4:30 pm & 5:00 pm. Seniors between
6:00 & 6:30 p.m.
7. PRIZE MONEY: Jr. Division - 1st $50 2nd $30. 3rd $20 Sr. Division 1st $75 2nd $50 3rd $25.

EARLY REGISTRATION IS REQUESTED
DECORATE - A - BALE CONTEST
1. Exhibitor must be 18 years old or under. Exhibit can be prepared by an individual or group.
2. One bale per exhibit (small bale of straw, hay, grass or bean straw).
3. Decorations must be safe, in good taste, and not offensive.
4. Entry tags are available at the Fair Office. Entry tag must be attached to the bale twine.
5. Bales must be in place in the Quonset Hut by 6 p.m. Sunday, September 12. Exhibits released and must be picked up Saturday,
September 18 between 7:00 am & 9:00 p.m.
6. Plaque will be given the winner by SEMO Specialities & Sports, Jackson, MO
7. Ribbons will be given to all exhibitors.

CHILDREN'S ROOSTER CROWING AND HEN CLUCKING CONTEST - 4-H/FFA SHEEP/GOAT TENT SHOW RING
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2010 - Contest Follows Dress-Up Contest
1. Open to any child under 18 years of age.
2. Pre-registration is not required.
3. Contestants will demonstrate their crowing ability.
4. Participation ribbons will be awarded.
5. Prizes will be given to the winners of both contests by the Cash-Book Journal, Jackson, MO.
DRESS-UP CONTEST - 4-H/FFA SHEEP/GOAT TENT SHOW RING - SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2010 - 1:00 PM
Poultry, Pigeons, Rabbits, & Guinea Pigs
1. Classes: (1) Poultry and Pigeons (2) Rabbits and Guinea Pigs
2. Animals must have been shown in the 4-H division or entered to show in the open divison at the 2010 SEMO District Fair.
3. Open to children under 18 years of age who can control the animal without assistance.
4. Pre-registration is required by 12 noon, Sunday, September 12 at the Poultry Tent
5. Participation ribbons will be given.
6. Cash-Book Journal, Jackson, MO will give in each of the two classes:
1st Place Trophy and $5
2nd Place - $3
3rd Place - $2
7. Open class exhibitors planning to enter the contest must have animal registered by noon, Sunday, September 12 and
brought to the show ring by 1:00 p.m. Animals are to be removed from the fairgrounds after the contest.
MOTHER/DAUGHTER LOOK ALIKE CONTEST - ACTIVITIES TENT - TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2010 - 5:30 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.
1. No age limits or cost to enter.
2. Contestants must wear casual clothes.
3. Register at Activities Tent by 5:15 p.m. day of contest.

1. Must show proof of birth date (birth date as of 9-14-10) at time of registration
2. Register at Fair Office by 12 noon Monday, September 13, 2010, (no late entries accepted).
3. Decision of the judges’ is final.
4. Open to any baby girl in SEMO District Fair area, age 3 months - 24 months.
5. First, second, and third prizes will be awarded in each age group.
6. Any responsible adult may carry child. Child must be carried at all times during contest.
7. Child must wear simple play clothing during the contest or she will be disqualified.
8. Sign in on contest day at Activities Tent between 5:15 pm & 5:45 pm. Must show registration receipt.
9. Show child’s age on entry as of Contest Day.
10. Child will compete in the older class if age is the same as a class division. i.e. Child born on 8-13-09 will be 12 months + 30 days old on 9-14-10

LIVE ROOSTER CROWING CONTEST - 4-H/FFA Sheep Tent Show Ring - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2010 - 2:00 PM
1. Handler must be the exhibitor of the rooster entered in the SEMO District Fair.
2. One entry per handler.
3. Rooster must have participated in Open or 4-H poultry competition at the fair.
4. Pre-register at the Poultry Barn when bringing chickens on Sat., September 11 or Wed., Sept. 15. No late entries will be accepted.
5. Roosters will be caged in cages provided.
6. Handler will work with their own rooster. Handler may not touch the animal during the contest, but may use other means to encourage crowing.
7. Each entry will have a separate crow counter selected at random from the audience.
8. Length of contest is 20 minutes.
9. Total number of crows will be counted within contest time limits.
10. Only real crows accepted - not abbreviated crows.
11. If tie occurs, a 5 minute crow off will be held.

PEE WEE SHOWMANSHIP - LIVESTOCK ARENA - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2010 - 2:00 PM
1. Child must be at least 4 and no more than 8 years old as of December 31, 2009.
2. One entry per person, written parent/guardian permission required. Consent form available below..
3. No entry fee.
4. Participation rosettes given all participants.
5. Participant must provide a halter broke animal he/she can manage unassisted for the event. Parent or other persons will not enter show ring with child.
6. Animals already entered in fair competition may be used. Or, animal may be brought to the grounds before noon September 18 and removed
immediately after the event. Animal health rules apply.
7. If rules are not followed, ringmaster will ask participant to leave the show ring.
8. Entry is by notification with consent form to Lawrence McBryde before 1:30 p.m. September 18.
9. SEMO District Fair is not responsible for accidents, injury, death, or damage to person or animal.
